BREAKING: Iranian Missile Strike Hits US Embassy Branch in Tel Aviv
A missile launched by Iran caused minor damage near the US Embassy branch in Tel Aviv on Monday, according to US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee. No American personnel were injured in the strike.
“Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in @TelAviv but no injuries to US personnel,” Huckabee posted on X.
The US Embassy in Jerusalem was also closed for the day, with Ambassador Huckabee confirming that “shelter in place (orders are) still in effect.”
The strike comes amid a dramatic escalation of hostilities between Iran and Israel. Early Monday, Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting Israeli cities in retaliation for Israeli strikes last week on Iranian military sites. Images from AFP showed buildings in Tel Aviv damaged and partially gutted, prompting widespread alerts and public safety warnings.
Israel’s military reported that the Iranian offensive followed a deep Israeli incursion into Iranian territory, which reportedly targeted military and nuclear facilities, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking commanders and nuclear scientists.
Amid rising tensions, a senior US official revealed that President Donald Trump had intervened to prevent further escalation by urging Israel not to proceed with a plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Trump, speaking to reporters on Sunday, said, “Sometimes they have to fight it out,” but also urged both nations to “make a deal.”
As fears mount of a prolonged conflict that could engulf the wider Middle East, calls for de-escalation have intensified. However, both nations appear poised for continued confrontation as the region braces for potential fallout.
