Bayer Leverkusen Sack Erik Ten Hag After Two Games in Charge
Bayer Leverkusen have officially sacked Erik ten Hag, confirming the former Manchester United manager’s departure after only two Bundesliga matches in charge.
According to a report by Sky Sport, Ten Hag, who replaced Xabi Alonso as Leverkusen’s head coach, failed to secure a win in either of his two league games. His tenure also started on a poor note, with a heavy 5-1 defeat to Flamengo’s U20s in a pre-season friendly on July 18.
“Bayer Leverkusen can confirm that Erik ten Hag has left the club,” the German side announced on Monday.
In the wake of his dismissal, training sessions scheduled for Monday morning were postponed as the club begins its search for a new head coach.
This abrupt decision highlights the mounting pressure on Leverkusen to bounce back after a shaky start to the season.
