APC NEC to Meet July 24 for Ganduje’s Replacement

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled July 24, 2025, for National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to nominate a new substantive National Chairman for the party.

According to a report by CHANNELS, the decision followed an emergency meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held on Monday at the APC national secretariat.

Speaking after the meeting, the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, stated that the NEC meeting would provide “the opportunity to nominate a new chairman for the party.” He also confirmed that a notice of the scheduled meeting had been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In the interim, Ali Bukar Dalori formally assumed duty on Monday as the Acting National Chairman of the party. Dalori, who was serving as the Deputy National Chairman (North), stepped into the position following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje, from the North-West zone, became APC National Chairman in August 2023, succeeding Abdullahi Adamu from the North-Central zone, who had earlier stepped down from the role.

In his address to party members, Dalori pledged to uphold integrity, teamwork, and a united front in his new role.

“I am prepared to work with members as partners in the collective task of safeguarding the party’s unity, discipline, and direction,” Dalori said.

He also assured party members of his commitment to lead with “transparency, inclusiveness, and a unity of purpose,” while urging NEC members to stay focused on the greater mission of the party.

“I appeal to NEC members to keep their eyes on the bigger picture, deliver good governance to the Nigerian people, and deepen democracy within the party structures,” he said.
