UCL Semi-Final: PSG’s Dembele Fit to Face Arsenal
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has been given the all-clear to face Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final second leg, coach Luis Enrique confirmed on Tuesday.
The France international had been nursing a hamstring injury sustained during the first leg in London last week.
Dembele’s participation in the match was in doubt after he was substituted in the 70th minute of the 1-0 win, but he has since resumed training with the team. Although he missed Saturday’s Ligue 1 defeat to Strasbourg, he has been training normally for the past two days.
“He’s been training with us for the last two days,” Luis Enrique said. “You saw him today, a normal training session for him. He’ll be available tomorrow.”
Dembele’s return would be a significant boost to PSG’s title hopes, given his impressive form this season, scoring 33 goals in all competitions.
Meanwhile, South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in also participated in training after sustaining a knock in the Strasbourg match.
With Dembele back in contention, PSG will look to build on their slender lead against Arsenal in their quest for a Champions League final spot.
