Sean Dyche Set to Become New Nottingham Forest Manager
Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to appoint Sean Dyche as their new manager following the dramatic sacking of Ange Postecoglou over the weekend.
According to VANGUARD, Dyche has emerged as the front-runner for the position, and the Premier League club hopes to finalise an agreement by Monday.
Postecoglou was dismissed immediately after Forest’s 3-0 loss at home to Chelsea on Saturday. Club owner Evangelos Marinakis was reportedly furious, leaving the stadium early and terminating the contract of the former Tottenham Hotspur manager as soon as the final whistle was blown.
Postecoglou’s tenure is now recorded as the shortest permanent managerial reign in Premier League history, lasting just 39 days. He failed to win a single game after being appointed on September 9. His appointment followed the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santos, who was sacked just three matches into the season.
Now, Sean Dyche, the former Everton boss, is close to making a return to management. Dyche has been out of a job since leaving Everton in January after two years in charge.
Reports indicate that Dyche held positive talks over the weekend, significantly boosting his chances of securing the role. While other names such as Roberto Mancini and Marco Silva have been discussed, Dyche is now seen as the leading candidate.
Nottingham Forest currently sit 18th in the Premier League table with just one win, two draws, and five losses from their last eight matches, prompting the club’s urgent search for stability.
Forest are hoping Dyche can bring his trademark defensive discipline and Premier League survival experience to steer the club away from the relegation zone.
