Rashford to Miss Atletico Madrid Game After Injury Setback
Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford will not play against Atletico Madrid in their upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final first leg after sustaining a knee knock in his side’s recent 3-0 win over Mallorca. The club confirmed the injury update ahead of the match.
Rashford did not feature in Barcelona’s training session on Wednesday and has been officially ruled out of the Thursday fixture as a precaution while he recovers.
The English international picked up the knock during Barcelona’s La Liga victory over Mallorca, where he featured before being substituted as a precaution.
Barcelona will also be without Raphinha, who remains sidelined with a muscle overload and has missed recent training and matches.
The absence of Rashford marks a significant blow to Barcelona’s attacking options for the first leg against Atletico Madrid, as head coach Hansi Flick looks to adjust his lineup ahead of the crucial cup tie.
