Katsina Declares Monday Public Holiday to Honour Late President Buhari
Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has declared Monday, July 14, 2025, as a work-free day to honour the memory of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in London.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, on Sunday.
According to Faskari, the work-free day is to allow residents of the state, Buhari’s home state, to mourn alongside the rest of the nation and offer prayers for the late elder statesman.
The statement further noted that Governor Radda expressed deep sympathy to the family of the late President, the people of Katsina State, and the entire nation. He described Buhari as “a great leader, a hero, a true democrat and a patriotic elder statesman whose life was dedicated to the service of Nigeria.”
The Governor also offered prayers, asking Almighty Allah to grant the late President mercy, forgive his shortcomings, and reward his good deeds with Jannatul Firdaus.
“Details regarding the burial arrangements will be communicated to the public in due course,” the statement added.
