Joe Biden Thanks Public for Support Following Aggressive Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has expressed gratitude to Americans on Monday after revealing he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

According to a statement from Biden’s office, the 82-year-old Democrat received the Cancer diagnosis on Friday, May 16, after experiencing urinary symptoms that led to the discovery of a prostate nodule.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement said.

The announcement, made over the weekend, prompted an outpouring of messages from across the political spectrum and the general public, including from President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump, who has frequently criticized Biden’s mental acuity and time in office, offered a rare moment of solidarity.
“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” the 78-year-old president wrote Sunday on Truth Social. “We are saddened by the news.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, who served alongside Biden during his term in office, also expressed her support, joining thousands of Americans in sending messages of encouragement and prayers.

In response to the outpouring of support, Biden posted on X: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”

“Thank you for lifting us up with love and support,” he added.
