N12m Cash Empowerment: Emeka Nwaobi Empowers 203 Youths and Women In Aniocha North


… Says He is Determined to Giving Aniocha North Quality Representation as He Presents His Two Years Scorecard.

Cash worth over Twelve Million naira has been presented to 203 Youths and Women in Aniocha North as a part of empowerment by the member representing Aniocha North State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi.

The cash empowerment was presented to the beneficiaries who cut across the 18 communities in Aniocha North, on Saturday 20th January, 2018, at the Oligbo Royal Palace Ground, Issele-uku, in a colorful event marking the 2nd anniversary of Hon. Nwaobi’s representation of the People in the State House of Assembly.

The occasion which witnessed a unique gathering of the people of Aniocha North who came out in their large numbers was also attended by a renowned and accomplished businessman cum Politician, Mr. Dumebi Kachikwu, the Delta North PDP Senatorial Chairman, Chief Moses Iduh, the Commissioner, Directorate of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Chief Dan Okenyi, Members of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission led by their Chairman, Chief Barr. Josephine Kachikwu, Delta State representative in the Executive Committee of PDP South South Zone, Mr. Chuks Nwaebuni  and Executives of the PDP in Aniocha North from the Ward to the LGA led by the Chairman, Prince Victor Egbune.

The Aniocha North Traditional Rulers Committee led by their Chairman, His Royal Majesty, Obi Sunday Olisenweokwu, also graced the occasion with their Royal presence.

The Vice–Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Tobi Ukwamedua, the Leader of the legislative Arm, Hon. Ekene Nwaonye and other members of the legislative Arm were also in attendance.

It was an occasion that afforded the Honourable Member representing Aniocha North, in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, the opportunity of presenting his scorecard to the people of the constituency on his activities as their representative in the State House of Assembly for a period of two years.

Speaking at the event, Nwaobi said that the gathering was an opportunity to appreciate God for all that he has done for the people of Aniocha North in the past two years of his representation, noting that the people are aware of the challenges that he passed through, before his assumption of office as the representative of the people, hence the need to celebrate and appreciate the goodness of the Lord God who he affirmed made it possible, even as he lauded the entire people of the area for their doggedness in their support, cooperation and prayers.

Nwaobi revealed that in fulfillment of his campaign promise to the Youths of Aniocha North, he decided, after a prolonged joint meeting with the Youths through their various leaders two months ago, that Saturday 20th January, 2018, being a day set aside to mark his 2nd anniversary will also be a time for him to empower them after agreeing on the nature of the Empowerment.

“I had a joint meeting of all the community Youth leaders, the PDP ward Youth Leaders, and my ward coordinators in all the wards in Aniocha North and we had a very long deliberation on what they want me to do for them and at the end of the day they voted finally for cash empowerment.”

He said that with their resolution, he set up a Five Man committee who he noted came up with a report, stressing that with the report and with the support of the Daughter of Chief Nuel Ojei, Ms. Ify Ojei, due to the approval of his mandate by God, 203 persons comprising of 150 youths and 53 women, each were being empowered with Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000,00) Cash.

The representative, who is greatly loved by his people gave the assurance that he will continue to give his people quality representation no matter the cost, adding that by the end of this present administration in the State, he would be able to point to at least, one project that he was able to attract to each of the 18 communities in Aniocha North.

“One thing I want to assure the people of Aniocha North, is that come rain, come shine, am very determined to give you quality representation,

“By the end of this administration, tell me where you come from among the 18 communities in Aniocha North and I will tell you what I have done for your community either through the state Government or from my own personal efforts,

“I am very determined to touch all the communities, 18 communities in Aniocha North by the end of this administration, no matter how small,” he stated, while saying that the people of the Area have shown happiness and delight over the massive infrastructural development ongoing in the area, which he described as unprecedented in the history of Aniocha North, while commending the Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his show of love to the people of Aniocha North, whereby his administration through his SMART Agenda has opened up Aniocha North to unparalleled transformation.

He reiterated his call and appeal to the people of Aniocha North to massively support the Okowa Second Term in office, come 2019 and stated that the Delta Central and South have had their full tenures, hence the obvious need to support the Governor, who he described as a blessing to the People of the State, to come back to complete and consolidate on his good works for the people.

Hon. Nwaobi at the occasion singled out Mr. Dumebi Kachikwu for special appreciation on behalf of the people of Aniocha North and said that he has been a strong backer as well as a renowned supporter of the Mandate given to him by the people of Aniocha North, affirming that he has continued to support his vision, passion and aspirations of transforming Aniocha North to an enviable position, even as he called on the people to continue to pray for him.

In his remark, the Delta North Senatorial Chairman of PDP, Chief Moses Iduh attested to the fact that Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi has kept faith with the promise made to his Aniocha North constituents prior to seeking their vote, adding that what is on ground in terms of record of achievements is a clear evidence of his willingness to do more if given the opportunity.

Iduh stressed that humility and passion for service to his people has not only distinguished Nwaobi, but that he has brought value to his people through adequate representation.

The Chairman therefore, urged the people of Aniocha North to continue to support Nwaobi and the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa beyond 2019 for according to him, any support given to the two synergetic leaders – Okowa and Nwaobi would mean more infrastructural and human capital development in Aniocha North.

Also in their remarks, the Chairman of PDP Aniocha North, Prince Victor Egbune, Chief Paul Osaji and Prince Ibe Ozoma commended the dogged efforts of the Honourable member in giving the people of Aniocha North quality representation and prayed that God will continue to sustain him.

Highpoint at the event was the joint cutting of the anniversary cake and formal presentation of the item of empowerment to the beneficiaries by Hon. Nwaobi assisted by the Delta North PDP Senatorial Chairman, Chief Moses Iduh and other notable leaders.
