EFCC Disowns Dismissed Staff Caught on Matchmaking Show, Orders Arrest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from the appearance of one of its former staff members on a matchmaking programme hosted on Lege Miami’s social media platforms.

The individual, identified as Olakunle Alex Folarin, was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC before his dismissal for certificate forgery.

According to the Commission, Folarin’s recent participation in the online matchmaking programme has caused public concern and misrepresentation.

In a statement released on Monday via their official X handle, the EFCC clarified, “the Commission condemns in the strongest terms the conduct of Olakunle Alex Folarin. He is a dismissed staff and should not be associated with the EFCC in any way.”

The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has also ordered Folarin’s arrest for being in possession of EFCC property, including an identity card, which he failed to surrender upon dismissal.

The Commission therefore urged the public to disregard Folarin’s actions and avoid associating his post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC.
