Delta State Civil Service Commission Schedules Oral Interview for Officers on Grade Levels 05–10


The Delta State Government has announced that the oral interview for officers on Salary Grade Levels 05 to 10, who are due for promotion effective January 1, 2026, will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Civil Service Commission headquarters in Asaba.

According to the official circular issued by the Ministry of Information and e-signed by Harold Ojji, Permanent Secretary and Director of Public Communication, the interview exercise will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will involve officers from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The announcement listed participating offices to include:

  • Office of the Head of Service

  • Directorate of Establishments and Pensions

  • Office of the Accountant-General

  • Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education

  • Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources

  • Ministry of Economic Planning

  • Ministry of Justice

  • Ministry of Health

  • Ministry of Works

  • Office of the Auditor-General (State and Local Government)

  • Ministry of Lands and Surveys, and several others.

All eligible officers are required to appear with the following documents:

  • Letter of first appointment

  • Letter of last promotion

  • Confirmation of appointment

  • Birth certificate

  • Local government identification

  • Relevant academic credentials (First School Leaving Certificate, WAEC, Degree Certificate, etc.)

  • NYSC discharge certificate

  • Staff identity card

The circular emphasized that only officers whose names and particulars have been duly forwarded to the Civil Service Commission by their respective MDAs will be accredited to participate in the interview.

It further warned that officers from ministries or departments that fail to submit their promotion briefs would not be allowed to take part in the oral interview and, consequently, will not be promoted.

“For the avoidance of doubt, participation in the interview is a prerequisite for promotion of the concerned officers,” the statement read.
