Delta Govt Fixes August 29 for Monthly Environmental Sanitation
The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for August 2026 will take place across the state on Saturday, August 29, from 7am to 10am.
The announcement was contained in a government special notice issued to inform residents about the exercise.
Unlike previous sanitation exercises that may have involved movement restrictions, the government said there will be no restriction on vehicular or human movement during this month’s exercise.
Despite the absence of movement restrictions, residents have been urged to actively participate by clearing overgrown weeds around their premises, desilting blocked drainages, disposing of waste properly and cleaning within a 20-metre radius of their surroundings.
The government stressed that maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility and important for preventing diseases and promoting public health.
The Commissioner, Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry, alongside other relevant authorities, will monitor compliance across the state.
Residents have therefore been urged to cooperate with the monitoring teams and participate fully in the exercise to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment.
