The Delta State House of Assembly Committee on the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA) has expressed strong satisfaction with the ongoing developmental transformation across the twin cities of Warri and Effurun.
The commendation came from the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Prince Emeka Osamuta, when the Director-General of the Agency, Chief Godwin Ejinyere, led WUEDA’s management team to defend the Agency’s 2026 budget estimates before lawmakers.
Hon. Osamuta, who represents Ndokwa East Constituency, praised WUEDA for its unwavering dedication to its founding vision. According to him, the agency’s recent performance “demonstrates capacity, consistency and alignment with the state’s infrastructural goals.”
He noted that WUEDA has justified the confidence placed in it through ongoing projects that enhance urban renewal, environmental sustainability, road infrastructure, and overall quality of life in Warri and Effurun.
Osamuta further stated that, in recent years, the agency has embarked on several landmark development projects which, once completed, will redefine both the physical and economic landscape of the entire area.
Flanked by other committee members, the Chairman also commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for providing strong political will under his MORE Agenda, and applauded Chief Ejinyere for maintaining momentum in line with the governor’s vision.
Presenting the 2026 budget, Chief Ejinyere highlighted notable achievements recorded in the outgoing fiscal year, confirming that most ongoing projects have reached significant milestones. He assured the committee of improved performance in 2026, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to fully realizing the MORE Agenda.
The budget defence ended with assurances of continued legislative backing as WUEDA intensifies efforts to reposition Warri, Uvwie and surrounding communities as model urban centres in Delta State.
