BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol to ₦1,075
In a surprise pricing move on March 10, 2026, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a reduction in its gantry prices for petrol and diesel, offering a brief reprieve from recent fuel cost rises.
According to the latest pricing template released by the refinery, the ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, has been cut by ₦100, bringing it down to ₦1,075 per litre, from the earlier ₦1,175 per litre.
The refinery also set the petrol price for coastal supply at ₦1,050 per litre, accounting for added maritime distribution expenses.
In a similar adjustment, the cost of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) at the gantry was reduced to ₦1,430 per litre, a ₦190 drop from the previous ₦1,620 per litre.
The company clarified that these gantry prices do not include levies and fees imposed by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), which could affect final retail costs at filling stations.
The move comes amid ongoing volatility in Nigeria’s fuel market, where prior pricing templates had seen petrol rise sharply, touching around ₦1,175 per litre at the refinery gantry due to global crude fluctuations.
Consumers and motorists are watching closely to see if the gantry price changes translate into lower pump prices at filling stations, where rates are often higher due to supply chain costs and regulatory fees.
