‘You Bought Your Grammy Award’ — Brymo Slams Burna Boy

Nigerian singer-songwriter Brymo has reignited his long-running feud with fellow artiste Burna Boy, alleging that the Grammy-winning star bought his award while questioning his musical talent.

Speaking on NotJustOk’s NotJustVerses podcast, Brymo responded to Burna Boy’s 2023 freestyle lyric, “Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo,” saying he was surprised that an artiste of Burna Boy’s status would make such a remark.

“I was surprised that he is flying so high and he did not realize how mediocre that was. I told him your name no go ever appear for my song. You’re not that important. Who’s your mate? You won a Grammy, and so what? It was bought now. I’ve been told to pay $10,000 for a BET Awards before.”

Brymo also questioned Burna Boy’s artistic ability, saying: “Can you perform, can you write, can you sing? I don’t care what fraternity you belong to.”

The latest comments revive a feud that began in 2023, when Brymo accused Burna Boy of drawing inspiration from his unreleased project, Macabre, for the songs “City Boy” and “I Told Them.” Burna Boy later appeared to respond with the now-viral lyric referencing Brymo.

As of the time of filing this report, Burna Boy has not publicly responded to Brymo’s latest remarks. Brymo’s claim that Burna Boy bought his Grammy Award remains an unverified allegation, and no evidence has been presented to support it.
