A devastating report has emerged that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a car crash in Spain.

According to Portuguese media and the UK’s Daily Mail, the 28-year-old was involved in a fatal accident on the A-52 highway in Zamora, located in the Castilla y León region of Spain.

Jota was reportedly traveling with his younger brother, André, a 26-year-old footballer, when their vehicle was involved in the accident.

Emergency services confirmed the crash, and a statement from the authorities detailed the incident: “The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room received several calls reporting a vehicle accident at Km. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. A car was reported to have been involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire.”
