BREAKING: Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71
Professional wrestling legend Terry Gene Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71.
According to TMZ and other media reports, emergency medics were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, early Thursday morning after he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. He was placed on a stretcher and transported by ambulance.
Despite undergoing a neck procedure earlier this year, Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, had previously stated that his heart remained “strong.”
Hogan was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of professional wrestling, credited with bringing the sport into the mainstream and helping transform it into family-friendly entertainment.
He made his in-ring debut in 1977, but it was during the 1980s under the WWF (now WWE) banner that he achieved international superstardom. Hogan became a six-time WWF Champion, headlining WrestleMania events and captivating audiences with his charisma and larger-than-life persona.
One of the most pivotal moments in his career came in 1996, when he turned heel and rebranded himself as “Hollywood Hogan” during the formation of the New World Order (nWo) in WCW, marking a defining era in wrestling history.
Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice—first in 2005 as a solo wrestler and again in 2020 as part of the nWo faction.
Outside the ring, Hogan also enjoyed a career in film and television, with appearances in Rocky III (as Thunderlips), No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, and Mr. Nanny, among others.
As of now, Hogan’s family has not issued an official statement.
