BREAKING: Lagos Re-Arraigns Notorious Kidnapper Evans Over Murder of Police Officers
The Lagos State Government has re-arraigned convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, over the alleged murder of two police officers.
According to a report by PUNCH, Evans was brought before the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on Monday, alongside his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, to answer a five-count charge bordering on murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
The prosecution alleged that Evans and his accomplice were involved in the killing of two police officers attached to the Lagos State Command during a botched kidnap operation.
When the charges were read to them before Justice A.O. Ogala, both defendants pleaded not guilty.
Evans gained national notoriety following his arrest in 2017 for leading a high-profile kidnapping ring that targeted wealthy businessmen across Lagos and parts of southeastern Nigeria.
