Accord Party Approves Adeleke for 2026 Osun Governorship Ticket

The Accord Party has officially approved Governor Ademola Adeleke to contest its governorship primary ahead of the 2026 Osun State election.

The screening committee, led by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod, confirmed on Wednesday in Osogbo that Adeleke met all requirements for nomination and emerged as the sole aspirant for the party’s ticket. The committee described him as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” and formally presented him with a certificate of clearance.

In response, Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude to the party and the screening committee, stating that he was ready for both the primary and the general election. “I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.

Adeleke announced his defection to the Accord Party on Tuesday night, following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 2.
