513 Students from Aniocha, Oshimili, Ika Bag Onyeme Scholarship
A total of 513 undergraduates from Aniocha/Oshimili and Ika Federal Constituencies have emerged beneficiaries of the Monday Onyeme Foundation Scholarship Scheme after successfully completing the 2026 aptitude tests.
The annual scholarship, sponsored by Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, provides N200,000 to each successful candidate, with additional cash rewards for the top performers.
For Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, 650 students were shortlisted, 474 sat for the test and 301 passed. The examination was held at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
Addressing the successful candidates, Onyeme said, “for this year’s scholarship scheme, six hundred and fifty (650) undergraduates from Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency were shortlisted for the aptitude test, four hundred and seventy-four (474) candidates appeared and sat for the test, while a total of three hundred and one (301) candidates passed.”
He added, “Also, all successful students will get N200, 000.00 each; the top scorer from Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency will get an additional N200,000.00 while the candidates in second and third place will get an additional N150,000 each.”
Ubaka Treasure from Aniocha South emerged the top scorer in the constituency with 45 marks.
In Ika Federal Constituency, the aptitude test held at the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, saw 478 of the 650 shortlisted candidates participate, with 212 students emerging successful.
Of the successful candidates, 108 were from Ika North-East and 104 from Ika South.
Onyeme said each successful candidate would receive N200,000, while the top three scorers would receive additional rewards.
Ojeme Goodness from Ika South emerged the highest scorer with 51 marks, followed by Idioma Peace with 50 marks and Akoreh Michael from Ika North-East with 47 marks.
The Deputy Governor said the scholarship would remain an annual programme, encouraging unsuccessful candidates to apply again next year.
He also disclosed that the next aptitude test would be held in Kwale for candidates from Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, while the date for the presentation of scholarship cheques would be announced after the completion of the exercise.
