2025 Nationwide Voter Registration to Begin August 18 – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will commence across Nigeria on August 18, 2025.
INEC made this known in a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
According to the electoral body, online pre-registration will open on August 18 through the official CVR portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org. This digital phase allows Nigerians to begin their voter registration process remotely.

The exercise will run from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
INEC emphasized the importance of early participation:
“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register.”
The commission also shared a summary of the registration schedule via its social media platforms: Online Pre-registration: August 18, 2025, In-person Registration: August 25, 2025, Location: INEC LGA Offices and Designated Centres, Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
