2018 Budget: Speaker Oborevwori Assures Deltans Of Early Signing Into Law


…Says Relationship Between Legislative, Executive Will Wax Stronger.

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday assured that the 2018 Appropriation Budget will be signed into law early by the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

Welcoming members of the House from  two weeks break on Budget Defence, the Speaker commended them for their commitment to the defence of the budget.

Recalled that the House went on two weeks Break on Budget Defence, October 31, 2017.

Speaker Oborevwori in his welcome address said that; “My Distinguished Colleagues, I wish to welcome all of you back from the two weeks break. I am happy to have all of you back here today and I thank God for protecting  us, including our family members.”

“As I welcome all of you back,  I want to use this opportunity to  commend   members of the various  House committees for their commitment  and devotion to the defence of the year 2018 Appropriation Budget Estimate. I must say that I am highly  impressed with  the efficiency and team spirit  members of the various House  committees worked  with the various MDAs in the course of the budget defence”, he added.

According to him also:”As the Speaker, I must say that I am proud of all of you, especially for making my work easy through your commitment. There is no doubt about it, the budget will be signed into law early by our dynamic Governor as a result of your dedication and commitment. Thank you for a job well done”.

“The Delta State House of Assembly is very vibrant and we will continue to be so. We cannot afford to disappoint Deltans. Once again, you are welcome back from the two weeks break on Budget Defence”, Speaker Oborevwori stated.
