Unity Cup Final: Nigeria, Jamaica Set for Showdown in London
The final of the Unity Cup 2025 is set to take place on Saturday, May 31, at the GTech Community Stadium in Brentford, London, where the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face off against the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica in what promises to be an electrifying football encounter.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 PM local time.
The tournament, which celebrates sporting excellence and cultural heritage between African and Caribbean nations, has built up to this much-anticipated clash between two of the most dynamic teams in the competition.
Jamaica booked their place in the final following a dramatic 3-2 victory over regional rivals Trinidad and Tobago in the semi-final held on May 27. The Reggae Boyz had stormed to a 2-0 lead before the Soca Warriors drew level. In stoppage time, Richard King converted a decisive penalty, sealing the win and securing Jamaica’s spot in the final.
Nigeria reached the final after defeating arch-rivals Ghana 2-1 in a tense semi-final on May 28, widely dubbed the “Jollof Derby.” Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring for Nigeria, with a Ghanaian own goal doubling the lead. Despite a second-half response from Ghana, the Super Eagles held firm to advance.
The match will be broadcast live on NFF TV, SuperSport, and AfroSport.
