Tinubu’s Government Can’t Solve All Problems – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that while no government can solve all societal problems, the current administration under President Bola Tinubu is committed to improving the lives of Abuja residents.

Wike made this known on Monday during a media parley in Abuja, where he addressed concerns about project visibility, commissioning, and developmental priorities in the FCT.

“I will not say here that every problem has been solved. All problems cannot be solved, even if this government stays for 20 years; no government can solve all problems,” he said.

He emphasized that rather than attempting to fix everything at once, the administration is focused on addressing key issues that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

“Government is solving problems that at least will help to improve the lives of people,” Wike added.

Responding to questions about why certain projects are not being officially commissioned, Wike explained that only major capital projects, especially those with high costs and significant public impact are showcased.

“It’s not possible for us to commission every project. We take what we think are major, capital-intensive projects, ones where billions of naira have been spent, and showcase those. But when you’re talking about smaller projects, must we commission everything?”

He also encouraged journalists to work with the administration in tracking development by visiting sites alongside Mandate Secretaries in various sectors, including education and social development.

“We’re not saying we’ve done everything. But we are doing what will at least make a difference in the lives of the people, and that’s the whole point of governance,” Wike concluded.
