Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Is My Top Project — Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is his “number one political project,” insisting that the President’s continued stay in office would benefit Delta State and Nigeria.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on ARISE News in Asaba, Oborevwori said he is fully committed to mobilising support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, describing it as key to sustaining ongoing reforms and development across the country.

He said: “I’m begging people to vote for President Bola Tinubu. It’s my number one project. That project is bigger than any other project because it will help us achieve more for our people,” the governor insisted.

The governor stated that the Federal Government’s economic reforms have improved revenue allocation to states, enabling Delta to execute more development projects and meet financial obligations without delays.

Oborevwori added that contractors in the state are being paid promptly upon certification of jobs, stressing that Delta is currently enjoying unprecedented financial stability.

He said: “For the first time in the history of this state, we are not owing contractors. We don’t wait for allocation before paying contractors. Once jobs are certified, we pay. We mobilize contractors with 40 per cent and continue to fund projects as work progresses.”

According to him, the improved fiscal situation is a direct result of President Tinubu’s reforms, which he said are already yielding positive results in Delta State.

“If the reforms are not working, will we get this money? More money is coming to the states. The reforms are working very well in Delta State and that is why we are able to execute projects and meet our obligations,” he added.

Oborevwori also expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, describing the party as united and strategically positioned for future elections.

He referenced recent political realignments in the state, describing the movement of stakeholders into the APC as a “political tsunami,” following broad consultations with leaders, religious groups, and stakeholders across the state.

“We all agreed that we should move. That was why the movement was a tsunami. We moved en masse into the APC and nobody was left behind. The same people who agreed to move are still there to defend the party,” he said.

The governor further insisted that Delta State would deliver strong support for Tinubu in 2027, citing both development achievements and political alignment across senatorial districts.

He also dismissed opposition concerns, saying ongoing projects across the state would speak for his administration and the ruling party.

“There are too many projects that we have done and we are still doing. If I start commissioning projects every week, I may not finish before the election. The people can see what we are doing and they know the difference”.

Oborevwori concluded by reaffirming his confidence in Tinubu’s popularity in Delta State, describing it as rooted in both political and cultural ties.
