APC Presidential Primary: Oborevwori Targets 390,000 Votes For Tinubu in Delta State

Delta State Governor and Coordinator of the APC Presidential Primary Election in the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has charged leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to mobilise massively ahead of Saturday’s presidential primary election for President Bola Tinubu.

Governor Oborevwori gave the charge on Friday during a visit to the founding leader of the APC in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, at his country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Speaking during the meeting with party stakeholders and supporters, the governor expressed confidence that Delta APC would deliver no fewer than 390,000 affirmation votes for President Tinubu.

According to him, the APC in Delta State currently has over 470,000 registered members and possesses the grassroots strength needed to record a huge turnout during the exercise.

“We know our strength as a party in Delta State. We have over 470,000 members and we expect massive turnout. We are determined to deliver strong numbers because this exercise is important for the unity and future of our party,” Oborevwori stated.

The governor recalled how party members overwhelmingly affirmed him as the APC governorship candidate and insisted that President Tinubu deserved even greater support as leader of the party.

“You affirmed me as sole governorship candidate with over 345,000 votes. This one is for Mr. President and he deserves more because he is the leader of the party,” he added.

Oborevwori also stressed the importance of party discipline, loyalty and respect for leadership, warning that political parties that fail to maintain internal order often struggle to survive.

According to him, sustainable political success can only be achieved through unity, collective responsibility and adherence to party structures.

“A political party without discipline, without respect for leadership and without regard for authority cannot move forward. Leadership must be respected because that is what provides direction and stability for any organisation,” the governor said.

He further urged APC stakeholders across the state to remain united and avoid actions capable of undermining the party ahead of future elections.

Responding, APC founding leader in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as purposeful leadership and efforts toward strengthening the APC in the state.

Emerhor, who also chairs the APC Ughelli North Leaders Council, praised the governor for his humility and respect for elders and party leaders.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is one governor who respects elders so much. We have fought for this party for years and we thank God for his coming to provide leadership and direction,” Emerhor said.

He added that political leadership requires consultation, inclusiveness and respect for established party structures.

“A leader provides direction. Political activities cannot succeed without consultation and respect for established structures. Leadership matters because it brings organisation and stability,” he stated.

Emerhor assured the governor that APC leaders and members across Delta State were fully committed to delivering massive support and votes for President Tinubu during the presidential primary election.
