NBA Star Jaylen Brown’s Father Arrested in Las Vegas Stabbing
The father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man during a parking lot altercation in Las Vegas, Vanguard reports.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, Quenton Marselles Brown, 57, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center following the Wednesday night incident.
Court records show he made his first appearance on Thursday, with his bail set at $300,000.
A police report obtained by Las Vegas-based News 3 stated that witnesses saw the argument begin after Brown “dinged” the door of a neighboring car while exiting his SUV. The report further alleges that Brown stabbed the victim multiple times, injuring his back, upper right chest, and hand after the victim turned his back.
The victim was hospitalized, while Brown fled the scene before being apprehended by police later.
In defense of his client, Brown’s attorney Arnold Weinstock told News 3:
“He was trying to defend himself,”
adding that the $300,000 bond was “excessive.”
Jaylen Brown, Quenton’s son, is a four-time NBA All-Star and was named the NBA Finals MVP in 2024 when the Celtics clinched their record 18th championship.
