Governor Nwifuru Reinstates 81 Suspended Officials

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has reinstated 81 government officials who were previously suspended for failing to attend a major state function.

The directive was announced on Tuesday, August 5 in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Monday Uzor. The affected individuals include commissioners, senior special assistants (SSAs), special assistants (SAs), and permanent secretaries.

“The affected commissioners, SSAs, SAs, and permanent secretaries are to resume official duties immediately,” the statement read.

The suspension, originally announced on July 28, 2025, involved the Attorney General, 25 commissioners, 22 permanent secretaries, 14 senior special assistants, and 24 special assistants.

During the period of suspension, the officials were barred from endorsing any official documents and were also denied their salaries.
