Delta Police Warns Parents After Mother Allegedly Abuses Three-Year-Old Daughter
In a disturbing case of child sexual abuse, the Delta State Police have reported that a mother allegedly sexually abused her three-year-old daughter.
The development was highlighted in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on Tuesday.
The abuse was reportedly discovered by the child’s father, who noticed suspicious activity after reviewing recent videos of his daughters and immediately reported the matter to the police.
In the video attached to the statement, the mother allegedly admitted during an interview that the child had been sexually abused. According to the disclosure, the child’s hymen was broken, she tested positive for a sexually transmitted Disease (STD), and there were visible injuries to her genital area.
Bright Edafe urged parents to be vigilant, stressing the importance of closely monitoring their children and reporting any signs of abuse without delay. He emphasized that timely intervention is critical to preventing further harm and ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.
This incident follows a previous high-profile case in Delta State, where a father allegedly abused three of his daughters, highlighting the need for heightened parental supervision, child protection, and awareness campaigns.
