Chelsea Squad Shake-Up: Maresca to Offload 9 Players

Published on June 19, 2025

Chelsea is gearing up for another significant squad overhaul this summer, with new manager Enzo Maresca aiming to streamline the team by letting go of players who no longer fit into his plans.

According to BBC Sport, Maresca has pinpointed nine players who are surplus to requirements and are likely to leave Stamford Bridge.

The players reportedly on the transfer list are:

Raheem Sterling
Axel Disasi
Djordje Petrovic
Armando Broja
João Félix
Renato Veiga
Ben Chilwell
Carney Chukwuemeka
Lesley Ugochukwuemeka

Sterling and Félix have already been omitted from Chelsea’s squad for the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Sterling’s spell at Arsenal last season, where he was on loan, failed to yield the desired impact, and a permanent move didn’t materialize.

Félix, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at AC Milan, reportedly won’t be staying with the Serie A club permanently, as they have decided against triggering his buy option.

With Maresca’s vision for the team taking shape, these players are expected to depart, paving the way for new signings and a fresh start for Chelsea.
