Bayer Leverkusen Appoints Erik ten Hag as New Head Coach

German Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen has officially announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as their new head coach.

The Dutchman has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.

“Let’s get started. Erik ten Hag signs with Bayer 04 as our new head coach until 2027,” the club posted in an official statement on Monday.

Ten Hag, 54, replaces Xabi Alonso, who previously led Leverkusen to domestic success. He was widely considered the main candidate for the role following Alonso’s departure.
