Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has named a 26-man squad for the 2025 Unity Cup in London, recalling veteran forward Ahmed Musa after a nearly year-long absence.

Musa will resume his captaincy duties, leading a roster that blends experienced players with NPFL talents.

The squad features nine players from the Nigeria Premier Football League, including Junior Harrison Nduka, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Collins Ugwueze, Sodiq Ismail, Waliu Ojetoye, Saviour Isaac, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Sikiru Alimi, and Adamu Abubakar.

Notable absentees include Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, Calvin Bassey, and Alex Iwobi.

Chelle explained that the Unity Cup presents a crucial opportunity to assess new talents in different roles, helping to strengthen the squad before the matches in September and October.

The tournament will feature Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago, with Nigeria facing Ghana on May 28 in a highly anticipated semi-final match dubbed the “Jollof Derby”.

The Super Eagles will play their matches at the 17,250-capacity Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London. Werder Bremen’s Felix Agu is included for training purposes but won’t be eligible to play due to pending documentation.
