‘Leave Before It’s Too Late’ – Delta Police Urge Women in Abusive Marriages
In light of the recent conviction of Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, has issued a stern warning to women in abusive relationships.
Edafe in a statement shared via his official X handle urged victims to walk away from abusive marriages, emphasizing that marriage is not a ‘do or die affair’ and advising victims to prioritize their safety and well-being by escaping toxic relationships
He wrote, “Gospel singer Osinachi’s husband Peter Nwachukwu sentenced to death by hanging. What I know is that before the court will arrive at this judgement, there must be enough evidence to prove that indeed the singer was suffering from Domestic violence.
“My message is this, get away before it’s too late, get away before you loose your life. May her soul rest in Peace, Amen,” the statement added.
