Isoko South 2: Onwo Presents Scorecard, Promises More Quality Representation.


The Member Representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Ferguson Onwo has restated the irrevocable commitment of the state government towards enhancing the quality of lives and infrastructures in the state.

Hon Onwo who gave the assurance at Olomoro in Isoko South during his maiden constituency briefing, six months after he was inaugurated as a member of the seventh Delta State House of Assembly, said attracting development to the onstituency remains a top priority.

Flanked by PDP leaders and elders in the constituency, the Lawmaker stated that the briefing was in line with democratic tenets and in keeping with promise made during campaigns that he would never allow any form of disconnect with the grassroots but keep a constant touch if elected.

Hon Onwo, explained further that the meeting was an opportunity to present his stewardship within the period of six months in office as well as enable the people x-ray his performance and present challenges faced the constituency for possible redress.

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Affairs Development and a member of several other committees including DESOPADEC said his election into the Delta State House of Assembly had enhanced his drive to the development of communities across the constituency and their people.

Giving account of his stewardship in the last six months, Hon Ferguson Onwo disclosed that thirty-eight constituents were sponsored for skills acquisition at Bio-rescources Development Center, Odi, Bayelsa state to learn skills, stressing that they have since completed the training programs awaiting to be empowered.

He said apart from the four statutory aides attached to his office as a member of the House of Assembly, he appointed over twenty-two persons as Political Aides across the constituency inclusive of Ward Liaison Officers.

Hon Onwo also disclosed other appointments he influenced to the constituency including appointment of two persons as Liaison Officers as approved by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and one as member of Delta State Water ways and Land Security Committee.

The Lawmaker while thanking the people for the opportunity given him to serve as their representative and reiterates his commitment to serve them better and called for sustenance of their support.

The Chairman, PDP Delta South, Chief Julius Takeme, expressed gratitude to the Isoko nation  for their unflinching support for PDP, and assured them of more developmental projects in the Okowa led administration.

While welcoming the Isoko South 2 APC House of Assembly candidate for 2019 election, Mr Isreal Umueri back to PDP, Chief Takeme urged the people to sustain their unalloyed support for Hon Ferguson Onwo.

An array of notable politicians in the constituency at the briefing including retired General Paul Ufuoma Omu, Chief Solomon Ogba, Chief Richard Olulu, Chief Emeakpor Owhe, Dr Godwin Adolor, Mike Edegware, Emamusi Obiodeh, Chief Ukiho, Chief Gabriel Erueme, Chief Amos Okoro, Chief Mike Usige and the Vice Chairman, Isoko South, Hon Alex Ebah, described the Constituency briefing as a step in the right direction and commended Hon Onwo for the initiative.

Others among whom are PDP leaders, wards Chairmen and liaison officers, including, Afahokor Duncan, Chief Ulebe, Chief Ikolomi, Hon Pius Emamowho, Afor Irogbo, Hon Oghale Ofremu, Anthony Akpagba, Mr Raphael Odorewu, Barr Ovirie, Comrade Philip Osima, also spoke in the same vein and acknowledged the efforts of Hon Onwo to enhance quality of lives in Isoko South 2 Constituency.
