IPDI Charges Hon. Daniel Yingi and Ebikeme Clark to Provide Forcados Hospital, Primary School with Man Power

Our visit to Forcados community only primary school and general hospital prove that member representing the area in Delta state house of Assembly, Hon Daniel Yingi and Ebikeme Clark, Burutu boss are not doing enough to help the people of forcados community.

We observed in our visit to the primary school and the health facilities in the community during the yuletide shows that the primary school has only one teacher, the same teacher is the headmaster.

The school facility is in deplorable state, no teaching aid, no desk, no water, etc. It is not fair that only one teacher teaches all subjects, ranging from Mathematics to English from primary one to six. This is a big challenge. What do you expect from this kind of educational system? The students are not taught at all.

We are disappointed, education is pivot of life. There should be better education for our future leaders. This should be a dream of our political class.

In same vain, the general hospital in the community has only one trained health worker and two other quack nurses employed by community efforts, no doctor and other medical aids. The people refer all health related cases to warri for treatment which is about 2hours drive by boat.

We asked whether Hon Daniel Yingi who is representing Bututu North constituency 1 in state the House of Assembly and Ebikeme Clark, the council boss have visited the place but we were told that since they were voted to power, the duo have not visited the ancient town.

Forcados the first capital of the colonial Nigeria has been marginalised and neglected by both political office holders in the area and oil companies operating in Forcados Terminal, such as shell, Agip, Chevron and Exxon Mobil.

Forcados Terminal is the most viable terminals that feeds the nations yet they are neglected and marginalised.

The poor and decaying educational and health facilities at forcados primary school and general hospital are equally wethin the purview of Daniel Yingi, a member representing Burutu state constituency 1 in the Delta state House of Assembly  and Ebikeme Clark.

Forcados is among host communities that produce large quantity of crude oil and gas which generate funds for Nigerians, Delta state and as such must be given the needed attention by Federal and State governments by providing the inhabitants of the coastal oil producing community in Burutu local government area of Delta State Teaching and Hospital staff and other basic amenities.

We therefore call on Honourable Yingi and Ebikeme Clark to visit the two critical institutions at Forcados to ensure adequate provision, deployment of competent teachers, health workers e.g nurses, medical doctors to meet the enormous health and educational challenges of Forcados people in Burutu state constituency 1 because the two institution are in dire need of manpower.

They should not appear to be a disappointment to the people of Forcados  who among other electorates voted them massively to elevate to where they are politically.

We want UBE, primary education boards and equally the commissioner of education to collectively deploy teaching staff and other aids to the school.

We equally want Delta State Hospital management board and commissioner of Health to swing into action to deploy doctors, qualify nurses and other medical aids in the community hospital.

Signed
Comrade  Austin Ozobo
National president Ijaw People  Development Initiative, IPDI.
