Internally Displaced Again – Onanuga Mocks El-Rufai After SDP Expulsion

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, delivered a biting jab at former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai following the latter’s reported expulsion from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Onanuga’s remark, posted on X (formerly Twitter) Monday, simply read: “Internally Displaced Again!”

The comment came in the wake of the SDP’s 30-year ban on El-Rufai, announced by its National Working Committee (NWC). He was accused of falsely representing himself as a party member despite skipping formal ward-level registration and allegedly promoting rival parties in Kaduna State.

According to SDP spokesperson Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, El-Rufai’s conduct violated party rules and national electoral laws, prompting his expulsion under the SDP constitution. He is barred from associating with or benefiting from the party until 2055.
