Delta Assembly Seeks Relief Support for Obiaruku Storm Victims

The Honourable Member Representing Ukwuani State Constituency, Hon. Dr. Alphonsus Ojo, has called on the Delta State House of Assembly to urge the State Government to provide relief support for his constituents in Obiaruku who are currently suffering from untold hardship orchestrated by a devastating rain storm.

The call was received under Matters of urgent public importance by the House on Wednesday.

Debating on the motion, Hon. Alphonsus Ojo noted that on 17th of November, there was a devastating rain storm in Obiaruku and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed. He urged the House to call on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a matter of urgency to direct the Commissioner of Special Duties and other related Agencies to send relief materials to those who were affected by this heavy storm at Obiaruku in Ukwuani Local Government Area.

The motion was seconded by Hon. Dennis Omovie and unanimously adopted by the house.
