Court Grants BLord Bail, Seizes Passport
Popular Nigerian businessman and crypto entrepreneur, Linus Williams, widely known as BLord, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja, marking a fresh twist in his ongoing legal battle.
The court granted the bail on self-recognizance but attached conditions requiring him to deposit his international passport.
“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” the update stated.
BLord had earlier been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre following allegations linked to impersonation, forgery, and misuse of identity in a high-profile dispute involving social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
The case, which has generated widespread attention across social media, stems from claims that BLord used the activist’s identity and image in promotional materials without consent, allegations that intensified an already heated online feud between both figures.
The court had earlier ordered his remand pending further proceedings, a development that drew mixed reactions from the public and key commentators in Nigeria’s digital space.
With his release on bail, attention is now expected to shift to the continuation of court proceedings, as both parties prepare to pursue their claims through legal channels.
The matter remains one of the most talked-about legal disputes in Nigeria’s online business and influencer space, with many closely watching how the case will unfold.
