APC Applauds Gov. Oborevwori’s Transformative Infrastructure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his purposeful leadership and critical infrastructure delivery.

On January 19, 2026, Governor Oborevwori led the groundbreaking of the Uromi-Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South LGA, a N59.7 billion project awarded to Julius Berger. “By this project, Governor Oborevwori fulfilled a longstanding yearning of the good people of Agbor and Ika Nation for government’s intervention to alleviate what had become a dangerous interchange, notorious for ghastly motor accidents that has claimed countless lives over many years.”

“Although the people of Agbor are the immediate beneficiaries of this massive and life-saving development intervention, the flyover inures to the benefit of all Nigerians as it stands at a crucial intersection of major connector roads to the East, West, North and South-South of Nigeria. Not only will the flyover boost economic activity in the area, it will ease travel, decongest persistent traffic gridlock, drastically improve security and promote the overall wellbeing of travelers and residents alike.”

This follows last week’s groundbreaking of the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli North LGA. “Other Flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, Enerhen Junction make it five Flyovers that are now under construction across Delta state as part of the Governor’s determined effort to expand critical urban infrastructure and improve the quality of lives of the people of Delta state.”

APC also highlighted the Governor’s MORE agenda “Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms and Enhanced peace and security”, including clearing pension backlogs, supporting 10,000 widows, empowering MSMEs, funding tertiary institutions, and equipping hospitals with advanced medical tools.

“On his part, the Governor is very public about his commitment to the achievement of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu-administration and attributes the improved financial capacity of the state to deliver dividends of democracy directly to the success of President Tinubu’s economic reforms that is steadily growing the economy and expanding federal revenue allocations to sub-national governments at levels never before seen in our country’s.”

“In April 2025, Governor Oborevwori blazed the trail when he led the entire structure of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state into our great Party, a move that has inspired several other former opposition Governors to join our Party in support of President Tinubu’s bold, unprecedented and transformative economic reforms that has brought our country closer to a new epoch of economic boom and lasting prosperity.”

The Agbor ceremony was attended by top officials and traditional leaders. APC concluded, “We applaud the Governor for the impactful deployment of state resources in effective alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President, and urge him to sustain his commitment to uplifting the living conditions and common good of all Deltans.”
