2018 WHLC: Igban Bags Award for Excellence on Youth Empowerment and Community Development
A former PDP Youth Leader in Delta State, Hon Andrew Omagbemi Igban was among the 22 recipients drawn from some Africa countries for various awards at the 4th World Habitat Leadership Conference (WHLC) and Awards ceremony held in Abuja in line with the United Nations Urban development goals.
Hon Igban, a leading aspirant to the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly, Warri South West Constituency, bagged an Award for Excellence as World Habitat Leadership Ambassador on Youth Empowerment and Community Development.
The plaque and certificate of honor was presented to him by Mrs Light Diden, an Ambassador of WHLC and Director of Operations, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC at the well attended ceremony held at the weekend at Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Abuja.
The organizers said “Africa is in dire need of sustainable cities that seek to meet the vision of United Nations core goal of Urban Development. The World Habitat Humanitarian and Philanthropic Awards for Excellence is a yearly event birthed to recognize individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in contributing to the growth and development of the world “.
It noted that Andrew Igban had been closely monitored and found worthy of the award to encourage him to do more for the growth of humanity and development of the society.
Responding, Hon Andrew Igban said the global excellence award by WHLC was a great honored and would spur him to contribute more to the development of mankind and the world to making it a better place to live in.
Igban stated, “I dedicate this award to God, my family, my brothers and sisters of Warri South West and the good people of Delta State. My commitment for a better society knows no bounds, hence I will always made my self available for the service of mankind “.
