We Have Commenced Second Phase Of Keeping Uvwie Clean, Says Adjekuko


…Commends Okowa, Nani For Flood Control

In a bid to keep Uvwie Clean, the President, Uvwie Private Sector Participants (PSP) in Waste Management, Comrade Lucky Adjekuko has commenced the second phase of the maintenance of the dual carriageway from Chevron/Prodeco to the Effurun Roundabout.

In an interview, the Uvwie PSP President disclosed that the first phase has been completed successfully and has now moved to the second phase.

“We have been working round the clock to clear the grass from Chevron/Prodeco to the Effurun Roundabout in the phase one. Now, we are done with the phase one and we have moved to phase two. The phase two entails the nurturing of the grass, this is to ensure they do not grow beyond the level it is now. The planting of trees will now commence”, he said.

He added that; “The phase one gulped so much money from us and on Saturday, September 9, 2017, we commenced the second phase from Chevron/Prodeco and heading to the Effurun Roundabout”

According to him also;”We are going to move to Jakpa Road, Refinery Road very soon as part of our Smart Green Environment project because we cannot take care of only  the dual carriageway without adequate attention given to these roads, so any moment from now, we are moving to Jakpa Road, Refinery Road, Effurun Roundabout down to the DSC Roundabout as part of the phase two”.

“I want to appeal to those at the helm of affairs and oil companies along the dual carriageway to come to our assistant and the the State Government should also assist us in one way or the other because we need more machines and financial assistance for our dreams to be actualised”, the Uvwie PSP President said.

He also said;” I want to commend our dynamic Governor Okowa for the systematic approach he has taken to control flooding in Uvwie Local Government Area for the past few months and I also want to commend the Commissioner for Environment, Hon John  Nani for hitting the ground running. I am also using this medium to inform our people that very soon we are going to embark on a Crusade tagged CLEAN UVWIE”.. All hands must be on deck to clean Uvwie Local Government Area.”

“Our Smart Green Environment is still very much on course. This Smart Green Environment is solely funded by me and my members. It is not easy and it will cost over #10 Million. We pray that things should work out for us to complete and sustain the project because it is our determination to make Uvwie Local Government Area clean. Am using this medium to appeal for support from major companies along the Expressway and the State Government in order for us to sustain the Smart Green Environment. Am proud to say that our PSP is different from other PSPs”, he posited.
