Police Busts Criminal Hideout in Delta Community, Recovers Sophisticated Arms
In a major breakthrough in the fight against crime and criminality, the Delta State Police Command has busted a criminal hideout in Agbarho, recovering three AK-49 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, and 207 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Edafe Bright, the command received an intelligence report from a concerned vigilante member on May 30, 2024, about the hideout of suspected kidnappers in the bush at Uwurghelli village by the rail tracks.
Swiftly acting on the information, the DPO Agbarho Division, CSP Josephine Ekebuike, led police operatives to the scene, cordoned off the area, and conducted a thorough search. The search yielded the recovery of the arms and ammunition hidden in sack bags.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the DPO and men of Agbarho Police Station for their swift response to the credible information received. He urged members of the public to continue to trust and partner with the police, emphasizing that police-community partnership is key to achieving optimal results.
The CP warned residents to shun unlawful activities, stating that the command will leave no stone unturned in fishing out criminal elements and ensuring they face justice. The public can reach the command on the Control room number 08036684974.
