JAMB Releases 279 Previously Withheld UTME Results
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released 279 UTME results that were previously withheld for further investigation over suspected examination malpractice.
The development was announced in a statement shared on JAMB’s official X page and signed by Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., Public Communication Advisor to the Board.
According to JAMB, the released results are part of ongoing investigations into cases of suspected malpractice during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board explained that while some results were released after investigations found no prima facie case against affected candidates, others have been cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established.
“While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates,” the statement read.
JAMB further disclosed that results from centres flagged by its live monitoring team for suspicious activities, or centres linked to adverse reports, would remain withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.
The board warned that any candidate found culpable after investigations would have their results cancelled.
Candidates whose results are still pending were advised to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
The release comes amid heightened scrutiny of the 2026 UTME process, as JAMB continues efforts to curb examination malpractice and strengthen the credibility of Nigeria’s tertiary admission system.
