2026/2027 Session: Delta Targets Nursery, Primary Schools for Rehabilitation
As the 2026/2027 school session begins, the Delta State Government has approved the assessment of nursery and primary schools across the state to identify those requiring rehabilitation and urgent infrastructure upgrades.
The approval was reached at the State Executive Council meeting held today, August 31, 2026, as part of the administration’s efforts to improve school facilities and provide better learning environments for pupils across Delta State.
Under the plan, relevant authorities will inspect the schools and determine the level of rehabilitation required, with attention to facilities that need urgent intervention.
The move is expected to address infrastructure gaps and improve teaching and learning conditions for pupils and teachers across the state.
Beyond the education sector, the Executive Council also approved the construction of 12 additional duplexes for Permanent Secretaries as part of efforts to improve the welfare and working conditions of civil servants.
The council also approved the construction of additional legislative quarters for the nine members representing the new constituencies created in Delta State.
The approvals are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to provide essential infrastructure, strengthen government institutions and improve public service delivery.
