Delta Speaker Inaugurates DESOPADEC Multi-Purpose Townhall, Water Project In Obodo Community


The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has commissioned a Multi-purpose Townhall and Water Scheme embarked upon by DESOPADEC for the people of Obodo Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Speaker who in his remarks at the ceremony said he was impressed with the massive turn out of the people and noted that the need for a modern and befitting Multi-purpose hall cannot be overemphasized, ranging from community meetings, social and cultural activities.

While saying that Obodo Community is well known across the state for its traditional and cultural heritage, Rt Hon Oborevwori stated that it is not out of place for a project such as the Multi-purpose Townhall to be built for the people.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to the people for voting massively for Governor Okowa and said that they will continue to witness dividends of democracy just as he added that; “To the community leaders who have always supported us as a government thus far, thanks to each and everyone of you for the kind support and cooperation that has made today a reality”.

“I cannot fail to recognise our leaders, women and youth groups. Thank so much and God bless you all. I sincerely implore you to put this facility to good use for the purpose of all”, he stated.

On the Water project, the Speaker said; “I want to admonish Obodo people to maintain and take care of this project as availability of clean water is an important weapon to defeat the deadly Covid-19 pandemic”.
