Report Those Attacking Us and Get Handsome Reward – Delta Police


Following sequence of attacks on some Officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Delta State, the State Police Command, in conjunction with the Delta State Government have issued bounties on possible suspects which members of the public have been called to assist in apprehending.

The handsome rewards which will be given for credible information that will lead to the arrest of these criminal gangs who had in recent times slained Policemen on duty, was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.

DSP Aniamaka who conveyed the resolve of the Delta State Government and the State Police Command, reassured of the Police Command’s mandate towards ensuring the safety and security of all Deltans at all times.

The Press Release dated, 28th November, 2018 and titled, “ATTACK ON THE POLICE – HANDSOME REWARD AWAITS ANY PERSON(S) WHOSE INFORMATION LEAD(S) TO THE ARREST OF THE SUSPECTS INVOLVED”, as obtained by ASABAMETRO reads below.

“Delta State Police Command, in conjunction with the Delta State Government, has promised to give a handsome reward to any person or group of persons whose information will lead to the arrest of persons connected to any of the attacks on Police Officers and recovery of the stolen service weapons.

“The above promise comes against the backdrop of the recent attacks on Police officers while on their duty post across the State, oftentimes, leading to loss of lives and injury to the officers and men involved and loss of arms and ammunitions.

“While appealing to the public for credible and prompt information, the Command however reassures them that it will continually do its upmost best towards ensuring the safety and security of all Deltans at all times.”

It will be recalled that on Friday, November 9, 2018, suspected armed robbers killed one Police Officer at Kowea Plaza in Asaba, the Delta State Capital after volleying bullets on Policemen on Stop and Search Duty in the area.

The suspected hoodlums after the attack, made away with two service rifles  and a pistol belonging to the Policemen.

Other Police Officers on duty at the time of the attack sustained serious machete cut from the hoodlums who disarmed the police officers.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa, when contacted confirmed the report. He stated that, “It happened between 7-8pm. A Policeman died during the attacks. They carted away two rifles and a pistol. The Police is investigating the matter and I assure you that we will get to the root.”
