“Last year, he empowered over 100 persons in Fashion Design from his community, Isoko and also across Delta State. This year, he has started his goodwill again to Deltans. He has called for all those who wants to learn fashion design and other skills to approach him. He has paid his own hard earned money to make sure they can start the programme. He has also empowered most of them that has graduated from their various programmes to go on to establish themselves and this is a good one. We want to call on all sons and daughters of Delta State to imitate and emulate the footsteps of Prince Kpokpogri to better the life of Deltans.

“We are encouraging him to continue on the path of excellence and we also pray that God will grant him more wisdom and more grace to do more.” Comrade Oberiko extolled.

In his acceptance speech after the award presentation, Prince Kpokpogri fully expressed gratitude to God for enabling him to reach out to people. He also thanked the group for finding him worthy of their privileged award.

Prince Kpokpogri who has earned several awards in recognition of his anti-corruption crusade and human development, challenged other individuals especially politicians to lift up the masses in Delta State in order to have happy society.

In his words, “This award to me feels good. It shows that all the empowerment programmes I have been doing, that people are actually seeing it. I am not in government but from the little that God gives to me, I like giving back to the society and I believe if everybody that have a government appointment are doing such, we won’t have this much campaign that we are running here and there asking, begging and seeking for votes.

“The purpose of being in government is to reach out to people. If people that are not in government can still reach out to other people, I think those in government should do likewise. Last year, I empowered about 100 persons and they were so happy, the records are there, 50 from Isoko South, 50 from Isoko North to learn make-ups and others.

“I train at least, 10 persons every year, I pay N100,000 each for those 10 persons and I also pay school fees randomly for Six persons each term which runs into N300,000 from the little that God has been giving to me. So I like giving back to the society.

“If persons like Government Commissioners are doing such in Ughelli, Burutu and other places, it will be a lesser stress. People won’t be canversing for votes that much because anyone who you empower in any family, won’t even need a campaign to vote for the candidate of your choice. That is how it should be.

“Giving back to the society should be our watchword as a people. I feel good because this award has encouraged me to do more.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of the Award to Comrade Prince Kpokpogri after the rendition of the song, “Leader dey Pass Leader”.
