Members of the State Working Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Delta State Council, led by its chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu have congratulated Hon. Engr. According to the capacity chairman, “We were in Abeokuta for the National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists when the result of your victory came to us.

“We were thrown into joyous mode on hearing the news. Let me tell you that even though we could not come out openly to endorse any political aspirant based on NUJ constitutional conditionalities, some of us were praying for you.

“The reason is that we have been following your antecedents, both as an accessible lawmaker and your adequate representation of your people; which is evident in the massive human and infrastructural development you have attracted to the Constituency.

“The truth is that as journalists, we desire to see good people in office at all sectoral positions, because when good people are in office, it makes our job as purveyors and managers of information easy.

“So Honourable, we are delighted to witness your transparent emergence as the Delta State House of Assembly flag bearer for Aniocha North Constituency under the platform of the PDP. There is no section of our constitution barring us from congratulating a deserving and society delight politician; which is why we are confident coming around to congratulate you sir.

“It is our prayer that God will see you through the general election. We  also ask God to endow you with all the necessary empowerment you need to prosecute the general election.

“As journalists, we are more productive when we have a sane society to operate in. So we pray that this coming election will be peaceful for you and you will enjoy all the cooperation you deserve from your people.

He thanked them for their private support, adding that by virtue of his media relationship, he has become a family – one with media professionals.

The Most Accessible Lawmaker by Heritage, assured the fourth estate of the realm that by the grace of God upon his life, he will not deviate from the mandate of adequate representation and good governance.

“What I have done in Aniocha North is not by my power, I give God the glory for the grace and strength to do that.

“When the political inspiration came to me divinely to represent my people, I asked God to use me as an instrument to bring succour to my people.

When we came on board, we made a promise to our people, which God has helped us to keep.

“I want to most especially thank the Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who had listened to us on the need for some level of development in Aniocha North and going ahead to actualise our dream.

“I want to also thank my constituents for their support, which has made this SMART Synergy with the Governor to work adequately in the life of Aniocha North Constituency.

“So I return all the glory to God, and to all of you who believed in me and had supported me one way or the other. God willing, we all shall experience a new and better Delta State when Senator Ifeanyi Okowa continues in Government House from 2019. Thank you and God bless”, he prayed.
