Delta Assembly to Hold Public Hearing On Private Health Care Center Bill on Thursday, 10th May

A public hearing on a bill for a law to regulate the Registration, Establishment, Operations, Conduct, Supervision and Inspection of Private Health Care Centers in Delta State by the State House of Assembly holds on Thursday 10th May 2018.

The public hearing organized by the House Committee on Health is scheduled to begin at 12 Noon at the Press Center, Delta State House of Assembly Complex, Asaba.

A statement by the Chairman House Committee on Health, Hon Alphonsus Ojo urges the general public and all relevant stakeholders to be a part of the public hearing as their inputs were required in the making of the proposed law which had gone through the necessary debates on the floor of the house.

Interested individuals and organizations have been requested to submit ten copies of written memoranda to reach the Clerk of the Committee, Mr John Obogu on or before Wednesday 9th May 2018 at office room G08, Delta State House of Assembly Complex, Asaba or on GSM number 08030587773.

The Committee particularly invites the State Commissioner for Health and his ministry officials, the Hospital Management Board, HMB, the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Chairman, Delta State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria and Nigeria Medical Association to the public hearing.

Also invited are Health Care Providers Association of Nigeria, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Medical Imaging Society of Nigeria, National Association of Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria, Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy, Optometry Society of Nigeria, Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria and all other relevant agencies and bodies.

The statement said the inputs of the stakeholders would be highly considered in the proposed law that seeks to regulate the operations of private health care institutions in the state for optimum good of the people of the state.
